In short: Somna has no user accounts and does not collect any personal data. Your settings, favorites, and mixes stay on your device. The only information we collect is anonymous, aggregated usage analytics (via Google Firebase Analytics) to help us improve the app — never your name, email, or anything that personally identifies you.
Somna Sleep Sounds ("Somna", "the app", "we", "us") is developed and published by Beijing Rixuan Information Technology Co., Ltd. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles information.
We do not collect any personally identifying information. Somna does not require an account, sign-in, email address, or any registration to use.
Your in-app settings — such as language, theme, favorites, saved mixes, sleep-timer preference, and onboarding state — are stored locally on your device only. We have no servers of our own and never receive, transmit, or have access to this information.
All audio content is bundled inside the app and plays offline.
Anonymous usage analytics: To understand how the app is used and to improve it, we collect limited, anonymous, aggregated usage data through Google Firebase Analytics (for example: which screens are opened, which sounds are played, app launches and session length, approximate region, device model, and OS version). This data is not tied to your identity. See Section 4 for details.
Somna offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (Somna Premium). All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store and Apple's in-app purchase system.
We never receive or store your payment details, Apple ID, or any financial information. Subscription management, billing, free-trial eligibility, and renewals are handled by Apple. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple processes purchase information.
You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your device's Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions.
Somna uses Google Firebase Analytics (a service provided by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics that help us understand how the app is used and improve it. This includes data such as screen views, which sounds or mixes are played, app opens, session length, approximate region (derived from IP, not stored as a precise location), device model, and operating-system version, together with an app-generated installation identifier.
This analytics data is not linked to your real-world identity. Importantly, Somna:
Analytics data is processed by Google on our behalf; please see Firebase's privacy information and Google's Privacy Policy. The only other platform service used is Apple's StoreKit, solely to deliver in-app purchases.
Somna does not record audio and does not access the microphone. The microphone usage description that may appear is required only because the underlying audio engine references the device audio session; no recording ever takes place.
We do not sell your data and we do not disclose any personally identifying information to third parties (we do not collect any). The anonymous, aggregated usage analytics described in Section 4 are processed by our analytics provider (Google Firebase) solely on our behalf to operate the analytics service.
Somna is suitable for users of all ages and collects no personal data from anyone, including children. The app does not knowingly collect information from children under 13 (or the relevant age in your jurisdiction).
Since all app data is stored only on your device, you remain in full control. Deleting the app removes all of its local data from your device. You may also reset preferences from within the app.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
